🎵 My First Concert Ever!! (Young The Giant) 2/12/14

Me with my old gray YTG shirt and their debut album from my local library.

I made this in PicsArt on my iPod.

I bought YTG merch!

My ticket to the concert.

My YTG customized school binder.

My YTG aesthetic.

Eric Cannata (Rhythm Guitar) and me. I was so nervous! Our heads hit a little bit. NOO! He asked me if I wanted another picture but I said it was fine.

Francois Comtois (Drums) and me. He was nice.

Sameer Gadhia (Vocals) and me. He was nice too!
Sameer, Francois, and Eric signed my ticket!

This email says they followed me, but when I went on the app it said they didn't. I still don't know why.
I freaked out when they replied!

It all started with an email I got from Young The Giant. I saw that they were coming to my town for a tour. I asked my mom if I could go and she thought about it. The tickets to be in the pit were around $30. She told me to bring someone, but nobody I knew knew YTG. I tried asking some of my “friends” in high school. No. I tried my cousin. No. I’d rather go alone because it’s cheaper and easier. Then I started to research about what it was like to go to a concert alone. I finally got to do the jump to My Body in the pit like I saw all the time online when I watched them live, it was so fun!!! I am embarrassed though because I stepped on a person in front of me ugh!!! X( I didn’t like that some of the lights from the stage were in my face. I talked to two girls who were behind me about who was playing before YTG. I cringe ugh XP I recorded short videos because I wanted to experience it first. I still remember it four years later. Wow! I wore my gray YTG band t-shirt and, stupidly, I gave it away to a stranger for a band tee they were selling there. I miss it to this day! I WAS SO STUPID!!! I remember telling the stranger that it had toothpaste. I think it was mostly peer pressure. I thought that a tee shirt from the actual event was better than a $20-30 online shirt I saved money for. FUUUCK!! I can’t do anything now except enjoy the shirt I have now. Which I will put on now! :) I just kinda hate that it’s white… After the concert was over I went outside and I called my mom earlier to come pick me up. I saw some people walking towards the back of the arena and I was following to see if I could actually meet the guys. I WAS SUPER EXCITED!! I also bought a shirt from some guy selling them cheap, I think it was $3. I was hesitant, but then I bought it. I was waiting for a while and they came out! Only Francois, Eric, Sameer, Payam, but not Jake (Jacob). I heard Sameer tell another fan next to me say that he was taking a shower, which was weird to me. He probably took it on the tour bus. I remember the guy next to me asked Sameer about the song Every Little Thing, which is funny because I am listening to that song right now. Sameer is soooo tall! I think I got my picture with Sameer last. I stared at his shoes for so long wondering if he would notice if I was wearing the same ones he had on. But I was waaaay too shy during that time. I didn't meet Payam because my mom wanted to leave already. It was all so surreal to experience! I want to go another concert again!

🎸 My First Guitar

This guitar was a joke & there were strings missing. It sucked! But I got some sweet picks! It was small too compared to the one I have now. My sister broke it out in the street. LOL

I named this guitar Shelly cuz of YTG's song Strings. There is a lyric in there that mentions the name Shelly & i am a huge YTG fan so....

I have since put A LOT of stickers on the guitar. I shouldn't name it cuz it's just a guitar.

I have more stickers now. They get annoying sometimes, but I like how it looks.
My Dad bought me it for $40 at an outdoor swap meet. Why do they call it that btw? Swapping?
Anyways, that's my story of my first guitar. It's a nylon string. I want a better one in the future when I can afford one, possibly from Guitar Center. I wish the strings were closer to the neck.

SWU 250: Last Class

Today was my last class for Stress Management and the professor said to write about 3 things you are grateful for.
1. I am grateful for this class I took because I feel like it really helped me understand the tools I need to be less stressed out and enjoy life more.
2. I am grateful for music because it helps me destress.
3. I am grateful for my Obama Scholarship because without it I wouldn't be here bettering myself through higher education.

We also presented our vision boards. Would you like to see mine?

I like my vision board and I feel like I will continue to make changes to it when possible. Although I would need a bigger surface area like an entire wall. LOL
I would like to thank professor Estefano. She is such a wonderful and joyful soul that I am grateful to have come into my life. I hope you all can continue to join me in my journey. I am so excited to go back to Rocky Point, Mexico. I will make another travel video, so stay tuned! ;)

Why Are You An Artist Documentary Screening!

So on Friday our video played & the feedback was positive. They only asked general questions of how we chose which person to interview & why did we film it the way we did. I am happy & proud of this, even though all filmmakers are their own worst critic. LOL Just wanted to express how I felt.

Happy Easter!

Today I went swimming for a little bit, but the water was too cold so we will go swim again in the Summer. This is my big sister's apartment pool. Then we went to eat at Dragon Buffet. Then we hunted for eggs at the house backyard and cracked confetti eggs on each other. There is confetti everywhere! LOL Happy Easter! 🐣 Also, my mom gave my little sister & I these cute Easter socks from the 99 cent store! I LOVE THEM!!!!
