Hey there and welcome to my web log! I am Denise. I created this blog for fun and to post anything that I would like to share with you. This is kind of like a Mindful Journal place for me. I have random thoughts, so don't expect this to be constructed or organized. Keep going down for posts and don't forget to look around the blog. Thank you!

Portuguese
I am interested and am currently learning the Portuguese language because I want to speak another language than Spanish or other languages people would learn like French or German just to name a few. According to Duolingo, I am 25% fluent in Portuguese. I try to practice every day, but sometimes I don't have the time or I'm working on other stuff. Remember in my post about music I said I like music from Brazil? Well I saved the details for this post because people speak Portuguese in Brazil. The artist I love is Jorge Ben Jor and his song Minha Menina, which means my girl. Told you I am 25% fluent ;) Anyways, I came upon that song when I watched a film called “Trash" in my Spanish class, ironically enough. The movie is about this special wallet some bad guys want because it has important information. And some kids had the wallet and they were being chased. We watched it in class because of the moral of how people live in the slums in Brazil. I love one of the songs in the movie, so I researched the soundtrack and I found one of the songs to be the one mentioned. So I learned Portuguese to better understand the song and hopefully better understand the movie as a whole, without subtitles. Bom dia!
Music
I love music. Who doesn't? I like a lot of different music based on what actors I like like and of course what I like. “I like indie rock," is what I used to say, but now I think I should say I like different kinds of music. I could say I like, indie rock, rock, classic rock, dark wave, trance, Goth, foreign music like from Brazil for example. But I will get into that in a later post ;)
My Goth Style Inspiration
I think I was first interested in the Goth fashion when I discovered The Cure and of course Robert Smith, lead singer of The Cure. I loved his music and look. I think I started with black clothes and then the black lipstick. For as of now, I am wearing a black coat that goes down to my knees I think. I got it at Saver's for about $5 and I think it looks really good, even though I can't get it past my chest. Black looks good on anyone is what I've heard and why not look good all the time. I have painted my black, but it gets a hassle when you want it off and they start to chip. So I've kept the painting to a minimum.

Purpose
By the way, the above sentences are from a packet my teacher gave the students that actually wanted to do this culture project. I was one of those students, if you haven't figured that out by now. I basically copied the reason that was written on the packet. So this is what my blog started out to be, but it can be more than that and I can absolutely branch out from what I initially set out to do for this blog.
Enjoy.
